Today started out like a regular day, sunny and nice out side. Then we went horse back riding. Me and Georgie rode terrorists. mine was named bin laden and Georgie's was saddam. Me, Ben and Georgie's horses were always the last three in the pack. But the guide kept going without us. At one point, Georgie and my horses stopped altogether. We had fun on the trail without our parents.
After lunch, we went to the park and there were a troop of baboons! 10 feet away from us. Go check and make sure your doors are locked before you go to bed. Because the baboons can open doors and mess up your house. After the baboon encounter we sort of hung around.
Just before dinner we went went to a sheeben (sheeban is a mud hut which is an illegal liquor store that villagers use). On the outsides of the mud houses they carve in to the mud to make design. It looks like they use forks to make the design.
Tomorrow is a road trip day so you may not hear from me.
I miss you all so much and I will continue to miss you
Lots of love,
Sarah
A big shout out to Eden. Braai is like barbecue. It is also amazing to see my cousins for the first time in a year.
I miss you too!!
Please keep away from those baboons!! The baby ones look really cute, but not the adults!! They really can open doors and windows so dont leave any food lying around........
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a great time with Georgie and I hear that Sophia keeps you entertained!! Pictures please!!!!! Hope that you show Georgie our comments. :))))
Much love and enjoy the road trip
Granny and Papa XXXXXXXXXX
My dearest, precious, beauteous Sarah. Granny is right. Baboons make terrible neighbors . . . and I speak from experience. I once hired an entire community of baboons to redo my sheeban. You'd think the Three Stooges were let loose. Grandma Joanie was beside herself when she saw what they had done to our garage door. When I finally got her calmed down, she took a closer look at what had been created. Indeed, there was a certain symmetry, a grandeur, breathtaking colors and originality. It became a focal point for the entire community. But, you can imagine what it took to clean off those baboons . . . a shower, a bath and a car wash. The leader of the pack was very pretty and blue eyed, uncommon traits for a baboon. However, she could get a little scary when food was scarce.
ReplyDeleteWhenever you talk (or write about horse back riding, all I can think of is how you laughed when we went riding in Jackson Hole. It was the best gut retching laughter!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Grandpa Michael was the star of that moment!!!!!! I have to echo those comments that have come before me today: stay clear of those baboons. We were warned (when we were in South Africa) that they are very strong and can be aggressive.... We were in a jeep and they were in the trees and they began throwing their poop at us...... (that's true)... Thankfully they missed..... UGH!!! Sounds as if you and Georgia are having a great time. How fabulous! Love to all. Love love love to YOU!!!!
